The Lighting Research Center (LRC) in Troy, NY has used a new method that has provided further evidence that "replacing traditional, yellowish high-pressure sodium lights with cool white light sources can reduce the amount of eletrical power used for lighting while maintaining, or even improving visibility in nighttime conditions."
