Pennsylvania's clean energy economy is growing good family sustaining jobs according to the latest Green Jobs Survey by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. The report shows that more than 41,000 Pennsylvanians have jobs at a renewable energy business and 65,000 more are employed by firms engaged in installing energy efficiency technologies.
This good news is the direct result of smart policies adopted over the last decade—primarily the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards Act, Act 129 (the energy savings act) and the $650 million Alternative Energy Investment Act that provided $100 million for the Pennsylvania Sunshine Program. With the right policies in the future, we can continue building on this strong foundation, create even more jobs, and put people to work building a clean energy future that saves every family and business in Pennsylvania money.
