"Governor Corbett has nominated Commissioner Robert F. Powelson to chair the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC). Commissioner James H. Cawley, the former chair of the PUC, will remain on the commission.
Both Powelson and Cawley oversaw the smooth expiration of electricity rate caps, the implementation of Act 129 (our energy savings law), the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard (AEPS) law, and the development of Pennsylvania's nationally recognized net metering standards. These smart policies have resulted in billions of dollars of clean energy investment coming to Pennsylvania, and the creation of tens of thousands of clean energy jobs."
